The DCE Senior Electrical Engineer serves as the Subject Matter Expert dedicated to providing key input to

• Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer. College/university/professional degree in Electrical Engineering or related work experience.
• Strong experience with the operation and maintenance of building electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, security, life safety, and controls systems).
• Solid understanding of critical datacenter or equivalent high-tech critical environments equipment.
• Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (ability to interpret blueprints, electrical one-lines, construction drawings etc.).
• Practical experience with automation and control systems.
• Solid xperience in design and/or field engineering of mission critical facilities and electrical infrastructure
• Established understanding of electrical theory and practical application of critical electrical equipment (Paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby diesel generators, etc.).
• Fundamental understanding of the International Electrical Code.
• Demonstrated ability to write, speak, and present information effectively and persuasively.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead proactively.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

The DCE Senior Electrical Engineer is a key subject matter expert responsible to provide technical direction, governance, and education pertaining to Microsoft’s operational datacenter fleet. Although this role is EMEA based, the successful candidate will be a crucial part of a global team supporting datacenters worldwide focusing on, but not limited to:

• Providing engineering expertise on support to site operations teams.
• Working with site operations teams to develop mitigation plans to system level issues.
• Training of site operations teams on new facility designs and sequence of operations.
• Electrical system EOP development and governance.
• Providing technical guidance for facility operations and support in best practices analysis and recommendations.

This role requires some travel to various datacenter sites and equipment manufacturer factories and facilities.
