The Garage is an Innovation Hub within the Capital One Financial Services division with a vision to inspire innovation and transform customer experiences.   • As a member of the Capital One Garage Command Center team, you will apply your analytical, risk management, and program & process management skills. You will collaborate with many cross functional teams including Sales, Product, Tech, Cyber and Risk teams, and partner with stakeholders across the organization on initiatives to (a) help drive transformation and change necessary to achieve the well managed objectives and create efficiency across the organization.

  • This position is looking for a highly motivated professional with excellent information technology (IT) system (a) project management & risk management, (b) internal control, (c) audit, (d) process improvement, and (e) change management skills. This individual would be able to design, implement, and effectively operate innovative solutions, processes, and technology to identify, assess, and appropriately respond-to-mitigate actual or potential tech, cyber, or process risks to the enterprise.

  • We are seeking dedicated, disciplined, process professionals who excel in effectively communicating and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic agile environment are essential to succeeding in this role. This individual must display strong leadership skills and be able to drive and motivate a team in delivering flawless execution of processes and projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Leading moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports

  • Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements

  • Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time.

  • Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent

  • Interact with business counterparts and other Tech colleagues to ensure appropriate coverage of shared controls and/or shared processes

  • Proactively engage team members and project leads to ensure system changes or enhancements consider controls and standards during design and through implementation

  • Review and verify governance documents and procedures for accuracy and effectiveness

  • Design and produce metrics used to measure efficiency and effectiveness

  • Create and disseminate reports and metrics related to the risk environment to key stakeholders

  • Analyze, identify and correct data issues with systems used or owned by a department

  • Provide subject matter expertise on processes when representing the department in projects and other meetings

  • Coordinate audit activities by operating as an intermediary between auditors and auditees and provide consultation to technology associates and leaders on audit matters

  • Identify opportunities and work with business stakeholders and partners to embed risk management practices into our daily operations and business processes across the organization

  • Use analytical skills to conduct Risk Process Assessment and Improvement, Data Process Design & Process Excellence

  • Lead designing, implementing, and operating an effective Continuous Process Improvement and Change Management program to advance process effectiveness

Who you are:

  • Savvy with providing consultation about the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of IT and business application control activities

  • Passionate about organizational design, development, and effectiveness

  • Appreciative of organizational science and theoretical frameworks that prescribe how to achieve optimal organizational results

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 5 years of Project Management experience

  • At least 3 years of Process or Risk Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience with Gen AI/ML

  • 3+ years experience with regulatory framework governing financial services

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills
