As a Senior Systems Development Engineer, you will design, define and implement complex system requirements for customers and prepare studies and analyses of existing systems.
1. Support the Client (PC), Server and Storage test teams on implementation of test processes at contract manufacturing sites. This includes:
Supporting deployment and bring up of early test processes for NPI products. Manage installation and bring up of test equipment to support mass production. Routine audits of test processes to include weekly yield reviews and driving any issues impacting production. Innovative projects to improve efficiency. Lead local technical meetings with Dell Thailand CM test teams to manage test related issues or projects. Familiar with IT infrastructure supporting Dell testers and support upgrades, maintenance or other issues as needed. Participate in supplier evaluations and audits, be representative of Dell GTE (Global Test Engineering) Organization to perform QPA and QSA at Thailand ODM MFG sites.
2. Assist/consult with supplier test engineers during Dell Product development process. This includes:
Work with GTE internal development of new projects that have not yet been approved, staying on top of new projects that will impact GTE group at Thailand CMs. Generate and review Test Functional Plan/BOM and test coverage. Ensure test coverage and product quality are optimized. Identify and communicate any risks to GTE development based on actual supplier test plans and coverage. Assist and co-ordinate build of product test. Support the safe launch program for new products. Work with on-site supplier test engineers in the DFT (Design for Test) analysis and ECAD layout of new products, ensure all testability issues are addressed. Review and co-ordinate new fixture designs for fixture deployment at Thailand CMs
Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree of electrical engineering or related majors with minimum 5 years working experience in test, design or manufacturing electrical products.
Strong English communication skills, verbal and written; ability to speak up and communicate well in difficult situations.
Extensive problem solving and analysis skills. Excellent attention to details. Action oriented driving for quick and accurate results. Strong ownership of issues and deliverables.
Must be willing to be on site 5 days a week at Dell Thailand ODM. Strong teamwork skills. Good understanding of hardware and software interactions. Willingness to work outside normal workday to support meetings across various time zones.
Ability to understand simple to highly complex hardware configurations including PC, server, and storage systems. Deliver products within budget, schedule, and quality guidelines. Develop and support applications, databases, diagnostics, scripts, firmware, drivers, and BIOS utilities.
Desirable Requirements
Thorough understanding of PCBA manufacturing process and test, including AOI, AXI, ICT and functional testing.
Be familiar with software or tools using a range of applicable technologies (e.g. Programming languages, compilers, assemblers and other tools) and state-of-the-art software engineering methodologies. Experience with software development lifecycle process. Dedication to good software development practices. Working ability to easily achieve mastery of new tools, programming languages, and operating systems. Ability to learn on the fly with little or no support.
