We are seeking a highly motivated Battery Hardware Engineer to develop and optimize battery pack and cell designs for next-generation energy storage applications. The role requires strong technical knowledge of electrochemical systems, mechanical and thermal design, and experience with battery system integration in Consumer Electronics applications such as laptop, battery pack, tablet or phones. In addition to core design responsibilities, this role requires active involvement in factory build support, including solving during prototype and mass production builds, developing and implementing factory-level testing solutions, and ensuring product reliability and quality. The engineer will lead or support Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (FACA) processes, respond to line-down events, and drive root cause analysis and rapid issue resolution in coordination with manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams. This position is critical in bridging the gap between design intent and scalable, high-quality production.
made up of every kind of individual: artists and designers, engineers and scientists, thinkers anddoers. Together we build things and experiences people once couldn’t have imagined — and- Push the boundaries of technologies to improve performance and minimize volume. - Define and implement factory-level testing strategies for end-of-line validation, pack functional checks, and quality assurance.- Support prototype and production builds by working closely with manufacturing engineering, quality, and suppliers.- Lead or contribute to FACA investigations, performing root cause analysis and driving implementation of corrective/preventive actions.- Analyze battery failures and testing data to guide iterative design improvements and validate corrective actions.- Maintain detailed design documentation, participate in design reviews, Ok2fab, DFT and ensure alignment with applicable safety and regulatory standards.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of hands-on experience in electrical design, development and factory testing for consumer electronics.
  • Understanding of battery cell chemistries (e.g., Li-ion, LFP, NMC) and their mechanical, thermal, and electrical behavior.
  • Familiarity with factory testing equipment, End2End validation methods, and data interpretation for quality control.
  • Proven ability to support factory builds, lead or contribute to FACA processes, and manage line-down issue resolution in fast-paced production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D).
  • Good knowledge of inter-module communications protocols (I2C, SMBus, SPMI, etc.)
  • Experience with high volume manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, BMS, and suppliers.
  • Basic programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for test automation, data processing, or analysis is a plus.
