Responsibilities:

  • Develop networking solutions for SaaS/PaaS applications that reside in private cloud, public cloud or both.
  • Design and implement network architecture for our cloud-based systems, including virtual private networks (VPNs), subnets, routing tables, and security groups.
  • Understand the ‘big picture’ to develop solutions that will integrate smoothly, provide high availability, and follow standards and security policy.
  • Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud.
  • Ensure the network infrastructure is optimized for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance and availability, and proactively address any issues.
  • Work with application engineering, devops, operations and clients to identify connectivity requirements. Understand end to end network traffic flows.
  • Develop and document new standards for network deployments.
  • Work independently, plan your work, lead networking discussions with other teams, vendors and clients.
  • Provide leadership and coaching for deployment teams and network operations.
  • Develop and maintain Automation for NWaaS requirements of the Cloud Ops teams
  • Ensure Production Uptime SLA for Networking Services

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or relevant field.

10+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions.

Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Advanced Networking Certificate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CCIE, etc) are a plus.

AWS Advanced Networking Certificate Preferred

Strong understanding of cloud networking technologies and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.

Knowledge of network security practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.

Solid Knowledge with monitoring/observability technologies like Prometheus, Graphite, Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch

Solid Knowledge with VLAN, SDN, IPVS, OSI Layer 4 to 7: load balancers, proxies, API gateways, DNS, CNI, TLS, and HTTP protocol

Familiarity with network proxies such as Envoy/HAProxy/Nginx

Hand on Automation/orchestration experience using any of the following: Ansible, Python, YAML, Go - Lang, Terraform, Helm and others
