Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops innovative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond conventional approaches to solve technical problems.
  • Creates secure, high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others.
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance the operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and their applicability within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Champions communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data, using these insights to drive improvements in coding practices and system architecture.
  • Contributes to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java programming.
  • Practical experience with Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Expertise in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
  • Experience with HTTP/2 streaming and REST technologies.
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages.
