Your day-to-day:
You'll collaborate with developers to design, prioritize, and implement self-service platform features that solve real challenges. This includes working on SDLC tools, establishing industry-accepted standards, and building critical platform engineering capabilities. You'll measure impact through key metrics, experiment with new technologies, and ensure our platforms maintain world-class testing, staging, and customer service standards.
Strategy Development : Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for the Disputes domain, aligning with overall business goals and customer needs.
Team Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of product managers, ensuring effective collaboration with engineering teams, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.
Product Lifecycle Management : Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from conception to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products that meet customer requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement : Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights, prioritize features, and represent the needs of users in product discussions.
Data-Driven Decisions : Utilize data analytics to inform product decisions, measure success, and iterate on product features based on user feedback and performance metrics.
Innovation and Improvement : Identify opportunities for innovation within the disputes process, driving initiatives that enhance automation, revenue generation, and loss savings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with engineering, design, and operations teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives.
What do you need to bring:
We're looking for someone who embodies PayPal's Leadership Principles and has a genuine passion for developer experience. You should have strong technical expertise in platform engineering, along with the ability to think innovatively about developer solutions. Experience with AI/ML, automation, and modern SDLC tools is valuable. Most importantly, you should understand the balance between providing developer freedom and maintaining necessary standardization for scalable systems.
Experience : 15+ years in product management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the financial technology or risk management space.
Technical Acumen : Strong understanding of technology and software development processes, with the ability to engage in technical discussions with engineers and architects.
Leadership Skills : Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Analytical Skills : Proficient in data querying and analysis, with the ability to leverage insights to drive product strategy and enhancements.
Interpersonal Skills : Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
Problem-Solving Ability : Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
