Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare Sales & Use, Excise, and Personal Property Tax Returns, Business Licenses, Annual Reports, and coordinate payments, ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
  • Maintain the taxability of new and existing customers, obtaining appropriate tax-exempt certification where necessary.
  • Respond to tax notices, researching and communicating with state and local agencies towards resolution.
  • Provide support on indirect tax audits, fulfilling information requests, and working with external auditors as needed.
  • Serve as a principal contact for Indirect Tax customer inquiries, approving tax credits, preparing state tax refund requests, and obtaining letter rulings from state tax authorities as necessary.
  • Support merger/acquisition projects, analyzing the impacts on Indirect Tax, and collaborating with project teams to implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
  • Stay updated on tax law changes that may impact the business and overall indirect reporting.
  • Evaluate and improve indirect tax processes and procedures for efficiency and accuracy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or similar degree
  • 2+ years of sales and use tax related experience
  • Proficiency in research tools such as RIA, Bloomberg, and ATR
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong financial accounting background with the ability to analyze and interpret adjustments posted to the general ledger or other specific accounts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MST, MBA, CPA
  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion
  • Demonstrated experience with state and local indirect tax planning
  • Experience in Vertex/Quantum software
  • Experience in med-tech Industry
