Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of storage engineers, providing guidance, support, and career development opportunities.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM storage systems including IBM Storwize, IBM FlashSystem, IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC), and IBM Spectrum Storage Suite.
  • Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of storage solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Manage storage provisioning, replication, backup, and recovery processes to ensure data availability and integrity.
  • Any of one backup software management and preferred TSM
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
  • Develop and implement storage architecture and design standards, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Ensure storage solutions comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Implement security measures to protect data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage SLAs, and ensure cost-effective procurement of storage solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate and analyse storage performance reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular updates to management on storage health, capacity, and utilization.
  • This role may require occasional on-call support and availability during non-business hours.

  • Occasional travel may be required for training and conferences


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in storage management with a focus on IBM storage solutions.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of IT professionals.
  • Expert knowledge of IBM storage technologies such as IBM Storwize, IBM FlashSystem, IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC), and IBM Spectrum Storage Suite.
  • Strong understanding of storage networking, SAN, NAS, RAID configurations, and related protocols (iSCSI, FC, FCoE).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible) to automate storage management tasks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management experience with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Relevant IBM certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Specialist, IBM Storage Technical V1/V2) are highly desirable.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
  • PMP or other project management certifications are advantageous.
