About the Role
- - - - What the Candidate Will Do ----
Design, develop and test models for realtime pricing, matching and other optimizations in a complex marketplace
Use advanced statistical and causal inference techniques to measure fundamental econometric quantities such as incrementality and long term value; and design, run and analyze experiments
Generate data insights and identify opportunities for product and marketplace improvement
Use data insights, judgement and subject matter expertise to guide roadmap development
- - - - Basic Qualifications ----
PhD. or M.S. or Bachelors degree in Economics, Statistics, Operations Research, Machine Learning, or other quantitative fields.
Knowledge of underlying mathematical foundations of economics, statistics, machine learning, optimization, and analytics.
Knowledge of experimental design and analysis.
Experience with exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis and testing, and model development.
Ability to use Python to work efficiently at scale with large data sets. Proficiency in SQL.
- - - - Preferred Qualifications ----
4+ years of industry experience
Experience in causal inference and other advanced econometric and statistical techniques.
Experience in algorithm development and prototyping.
Experience in productionizing ML or optimization algorithms.
Experience in pricing/matching in the on-demand/gig/shared economy.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$183,000 per year - USD$203,000 per year.
