Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ year(s) experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience within datacenter colocation and contract structures.
  • Experience negotiating business agreements and creating win-win scenarios.
  • Experience within the power industry.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Law, Policy, or related field, and 6+ years experience in the energy industry, project management, business development, or related role
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Law, Policy, AND 3+ year(s) experience in the energy industry, project management, business development, or related role
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience negotiating energy provisions in datacenter leasing contracts.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with colocation providers to develop innovative partnership strategies to meet Microsoft’s ambitious sustainability and carbon reduction goals.
  • Participate in contract negotiations with colocation providers to secure fair and cost-effective energy terms based on Microsoft energy lease principles.
  • Regularly review and analyze energy invoices from colocation providers and their utility providers to track costs and identify cost savings opportunities for Microsoft.
  • Assist with datacenter interconnection and energy supply contract negotiations with utilities and third-party energy suppliers.
  • Build relationships with external suppliers and partners, particularly electric utilities, local and regional regulatory agencies, customers, and energy technology providers.
  • Embody our and
