Your Role and ResponsibilitiesYou will be part of IBM Software’s M&A and Strategy team, responsibilities include developing strategy, sourcing acquisition and investment opportunities, building relationships, negotiating, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to IBM Software’s acquisitions end to end – be part of the team that is responsible for strategy, target identification, developing relationships, performing diligence, executing transaction and integration
  • Develop understanding of enterprise software sector, infrastructure software and AI segments that IBM participates in and contribute to establishing M&A strategy for IBM
  • Perform research to develop unique perspective on relevant software market segments and companies, identify companies headquartered in India and Asia Pacific within IBM’s strategic segments, develop CXO level relationships at selected companies and create deep understanding of target companies’ business, build out and pitch strategic rationale for acquisitions.
  • Assess revenue and cost synergy for target acquisitions and build financial model
  • Coordinate with global cross-functional teams during the acquisition process.
  • Educate senior executives on target companies, new trends and investment opportunities


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology required
  • MBA from a top institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate development or strategy at a leading technology company, private equity or venture capital
  • Strategic, analytical, communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Prior experience in Mergers & Acquisitions a strong plus
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, and superb interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and manage trusted relationships with senior business leaders
  • Driven, self-starter with a passion for excellence
  • Up to 20% travel required
