Key job responsibilities
The ideal individual will be comfortable with designing mechanical systems for mounting cameras, optics, other sensors, wiring, computer systems and supporting infrastructure. Experience with industrial measurement, controls, and mechanical conveyance and safety systems is a plus.· Evaluate overall system design by crafting and conducting evaluation tests; applying knowledge of engineering fundamentals
• Work in harware design of computer vision systems collaborating with inter disciplinary hardware, systems, software and science teams
• Overview of design, test, and debug of complex hardware technologies for product development.
• Develop guidelines for validation strategies, manufacturing, system bring-up, and system evaluation.
• Learn, analyze, and work with new interfaces and subsystems, break down complex issues, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate in design reviews between dev teams and suppliers.
• Perform supplier’s capabilities study with others HDE and provide risk mitigation for identified gaps and schedule impact assessment.
• Analyze and evaluate EV and PV build data for system engineering build, presenting summary to the development team and adjusting test spec limits based on build analysis.
• Lead troubleshooting and deep diving into software, firmware and hardware problems (e.g. Debug wherever the problem leads and have the confidence to engage cross functional partners to support issue resolution.).

- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
- BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 7+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume

- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Strong interest and ability to learn customer requirements in the data collection space.
- Experience with mechanical system limitations and impact to sensitivity of sensing systems
- Familiarity with industrial camera systems, and other types of industrial sensing and controls.
- Excellent Oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop software for experimental prototyping purpose.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
