As a Microsoft Circular Center Inventory & Asset Technician (CC DIAT), you will perform destruction of data bearing devices (DBDs) and harvest parts and components of decommissioned devices per procedure. You will also perform cycle audits, execute incoming/outgoing deliveries, , and document inbound and outbound deliveries as instructed by management. You will initiate warranty claims and process returns on failed equipment. This opportunity will allow you to build working knowledge of inventory management principles, warranty process management, data bearing device destruction, and advance your career in the process.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma AND 6 months experience or an internship in inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours that may include evening, nighttime, weekends and/or holidays.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma AND 1+ year(s) experience warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field

    • OR equivalent experience

Materials Handling ATR-B - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $19.66 - $30.53 per hour.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $26.25 - $33.32 per hour.

Materials Handling ATR-C - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $22.16 - $37.36 per hour.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $29.81 - $40.72 per hour.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. Safety Practices

  • Complies with security and data management policies. Escalates any security or safety incidents. Coordinates with security escorts for third-party vendors. Engages in Task Hazard Analysis (THA) consistently for every task to be performed and ensures sign off from appropriate person for any related risks.

Tactical Shift Management

  • Performs assigned tasks and escalates issues during high-volume work activity or escalation-based situations. Seeks guidance from management before proceeding with the next step of a process.

Inbound and Outbound Logistics

  • Performs data entry to document inbound and outbound packages. Executes incoming/outgoing deliveries as instructed by management (e.g. purchase order [PO] receiving, Rack Movement Supervisor [RMS] activities). Ensures accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing deliveries as well as records. Applies appropriate customs documentations and standards for outbound packages.

Customer Service

  • Maintains a focus to understand the impact of their work when completing tickets and assigned Inventory and Asset Management (IAM) tasks. Ensures IAM tasks are completed accurately as requested, as well as meet company and industry standards and policies. Becomes familiar with guidelines set by the Microsoft contractual agreements with suppliers and maintains a customer focus. Recognizes potential stakeholder impact of external and internal events and issues, communicates potential impact, and plans for impact accordingly.

Inventory Management

  • Develops working knowledge of stock control and inventory management practices and procedures. Performs cycle audits and data corrections to ensure all inventory controls are met. Helps reconcile inventory discrepancies and report discrepancies. Ensures detailed physical inventory tracking and staging. Performs material movement, including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process.

Warranty Process Management

  • Engages supplier to initiate warranty claim when automation is not available and processes the orders. Processes failed vendor hardware devices using online/other tools, including information processing, packaging, shipment, and receipt of return for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) devices. Follows all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to RMA warranty process.

Data Bearing Device (DBD) Destruction

  • Performs destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Microsoft policies as necessary. Ensures DBD serial number matches with database.

Procurement

  • Notifies management about ordering stock shortages. Escalates any issues to management.

Operational Excellence

  • Follows existing procedures to run processes and ensures execution with consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery.
