Key job responsibilities
* Configure and maintain device settings, collaborating with Controls Engineering and Software teams on sequence of operations. Ensure accurate system configuration management across sites.
* Deploy software updates and manage controller provisioning. Deliver timely and successful software deployments with minimal service disruptions.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the Amazon Control System components, including mechanical, electrical, and software systems. Quickly diagnose and resolve incidents impacting system functionality and data center operations.
* Work cross-functionally with teams like CDS, Operations, and Software Development to ensure successful control system deployment and operation. Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Investigate and resolve commissioning observations related to Amazon Control Systems, escalating issues as needed. Respond to commissioning observations within SLAs, prioritizing critical issues.
* Document processes, maintain run-books, and contribute to continuous improvements of Amazon Control Systems support practices. Enhance knowledge sharing and drive process enhancements.A day in the life* Continuously learn and adapt: The control system platform and supporting technologies are constantly evolving. Work/Life Balance
1. Unix/Linux systems administration: Experience in administering and troubleshooting Linux/Unix-based systems, including experience with scripting and automation using tools like ps, grep, etc.
2. Programming: Experience in programming languages, preferably Python and shell scripting
3. Systems troubleshooting and problem-solving: Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting networking, application programming interfaces (APIs), or diagnostic logs.
4. Collaborative working style: Demonstrated skills in cross-functional collaboration with diverse teams, with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent requests to achieve project goals.
1. Critical environments experience: data centers (preferred) or other critical environments (defense, pharmaceutical, hospitals, research laboratories, oil and gas)
2. Electrical or mechanical controls systems experience
3. Controls construction or service experience, in one or more of:
a. Controls system architecture design
b. Controls system installation
4. Education and certification:
a. B.S. in Computer Science, Software, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
b. Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or related project management certification
