Perform basic chemical testing on facility related equipment, e.g. boilers, water softeners, DI-Water system, etc.
Learn and perform basic system tasks, e.g. boiler rotations, logs and blowdowns, fire system testing.
Follow daily good housekeeping practices to maintain all mechanical areas in a clean and safe environment.
Testing and maintenance of the facility eyewash and safety showers
Be a clear thinker and be able to work independently as well as within a group setting.
Must possess the skill to complete routine and non-routine preventive maintenance tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Facilities Leaders.
Must be computer literate, Windows etc. but experience with building management systems a plus.
Perform walking and written tours on facility related equipment.
Ability to learn and operate facilities systems, e.g. Industrial Wastewater, DI-Water, Fluoride Recovery.
Responsible for maintaining bathroom plumbing system, commode, urinal and sink maintenance.
Assist Facility Technicians with maintenance tasks as needed.
Maintain facility water softeners, be able independently to lift 50lbs.
Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Able to climb ladders and work from heights.
Shovel snow as needed.
Work in confined spaces such as cooling towers and air handling units.
All other duties as assigned.
Must be able to work 12 hr. rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays as well as overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Basic mechanical aptitude.
Basic knowledge of hand tool usage.
Demonstrated proficiency to utilize computerized work.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to communicate in local language, verbal and written (English).
Demonstrated ability to work well with general direction and information.
