Essential Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a project or system leader, coordinating the activities of other engineers on the project or within the system
  • Determines the technical tasks that other engineers will follow
  • Actions result in the achievement of customer, operational, program or service objectives
  • Proactively improves existing structures & processes
  • Exercises judgement in reconciling diverse and competing priorities (time, quality, complexity risk) to identify optimal solutions to problems
  • Notices patterns and condenses repetition into densely meaningful generalized solutions
  • Collaborates with management to set/improve standards for engineering rigor
  • Trusted to represent PayPal, Inc to the outside world via interactions with partners, customers, or industry organizations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

* Experience leading and developing mobile applications.
* Experience in developer-facing products (e.g. SDKs, REST APIs, GraphQL) or products that enable third-party application development are great to have but not required.
* Excited about our team’s focus on open source and improving developer experiences.
* Experience with or interest in working with a team of engineers
* Keep up to date on industry trends and technologies and apply them to our products.


* Building PayPal’s Mobile SDK for iOS
* Working with stakeholders across PayPal to create simple, robust Mobile SDKs that enables all PayPal has to offer.
* Partnering closely with cross functional partners, like Venmo, in design and product.
* Providing feedback on code and contributing to architecture discussions.
* Engaging with internal and external developers to better understand developer pain points and ways to improve the developer experience.

* We are launching new and interesting ways to pay through our SDKs.
* We create easy-to-use developer tools that supplement our SDKs and Integrations.
* We are focused on improving the developer experience by engaging with the external developer community, creating tutorials, blogs, and speaking at conference

The US national annual pay range for this role is $152,500 to $262,350
