As a Cloud FinOps System Analyst, you will aid in bridging the gap between product owners, business, operations, and software developers by leveraging your technical fluency and strong analytical reasoning skills. Your responsibilities will include eliciting and documenting business and data flow requirements, translating them into well-structured and technically feasible solutions. You will be working with Finance & Business Managers, Architecture & Engineering and Production & Infrastructure teams specifically focused on Cloud costavoidance/optimizationand reducing technical debt. You will be responsible for interfacing with the Line of Business delivery teams in order to support key reporting needs for senior management. You will leverage best practices to design and implement services that provide financial control of our customers cloud spend and provide recommendations while tracking cost savings. Working alongside other members of the FinOps team, you will be identifying consumption trends, detecting anomalies in usage, optimization opportunities and creating custom capacity reports and dashboards to be delivered to internal stakeholders.
- Provide customized reporting and dashboards to internal stakeholders to provide a view on capacity trends, plans and actual costs vs budget and the drivers of the spend and peaks in usage.
- Ensure capacity / performance / availability requirements are optimized and cost justified.
- Perform daily data analysis of our Cloud consumption across all Cloud providers and all cloud technologies.
- Work within the Cloud FinOps team to identify Cost Optimization Opportunities and inform the business and technical owners. Including but not limited to Rightsizing, Reservations, Savings Plans, Wastage Removal, technology upgrades.
- Implement analytical models in production by collaborating with finance, procurement and respective FinOps personnel within the different Line of Business delivery teams.
- Assist in the planning, evaluation, and implementation of cloud cost management solutions & supported tools.
- Serve as lead data strategist to identify and integrate new datasets that can be leveraged through our product capabilities and work closely with the Cloud FinOps team in the development of data products.
- Work with other FinOps teams to provide the cost forecasting across the Cloud providers considering proposed/planned changes, new workloads planned to be cloud hosted in the future and comparing Cloud costs across AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Collaborate with the Procurement team to report on enterprise level commitments vs consumption and future consumption.
- Alongside our Software Asset Management team, you will work to help identify software renewals or new software procurement that could use a cloud-based Marketplace to achieve a lower price point and assist burn down enterprise level commitments.
- Work together with Architecture, Risk & Compliance (ARC) & Finance team to track consumption vs commitment across agreements purchased via Marketplace charges.
- Complete monthly and quarterly recovery chargebacks for all Cloud owned SKUs
- Design and implement automated processes for cost reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Stay updated on cloud pricing models, cost management tools, and standard methodologies in FinOps.

- Understanding of FinOps practice including key principles, domains, and capabilities.
- Some knowledge and experience with GCP, AWS and Azure technologies (Foundation level)
- A curious, data driven and analytical mindset.
- CSP’s API callouts and integrate them with cloud cost management tools.
- Previous experience in technology and/or finance or data analytics
- Collaborative and continuous improvement mindset, ability to positively influence the team.
- Preferable to have experience of Cloud management tools such as AWS cost explorer, CloudWatch, CloudHealth, Azure Cost Management & Cloudability.
- Knowledge IT Service management tools e.g. ServiceNow, Atlassian would be beneficial.
- Programming Skills – knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL, Hive is desirable. Familiarity with Scala, Java, or C++ is an added advantage.
- Analyze complex, multi-cloud cost and performance datasets to facilitate cost and rate optimization.
- Data Processing - Strong understanding and hands-on knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI, WebMethods (middleware), Hadoop functions and ETL tools (Tableau Prep, Azure Data Factory)
- Working experience in CI/CD pipeline (GitHub, CoPilot, BitBucket, Jenkins) and application management & deployment
- Good knowledge and understanding in any FinOps AI tools
- Excellent Communication Skills to describe findings to a technical and non-technical audience.
- Analytical mind and ready to drive the technical discussions with limited supervision.
- Proven Experience as Cloud FinOps Systems Analyst
Preferred skills and Education qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field is preferred.
- 7+ years of Cloud Cost Systems Analyst with 2+ years of cloud computing experience is preferred.
- Professional certifications (Azure/AWS Fundamentals, FinOps Certified Practitioner preferred)
- Any working experience on cloud cost management tools and chargeback process
- 1-3 years of FinOps Cloud Operation experience
- Problem Solver - you can cull the relevant details and solve for the essence of the problem.
- Unafraid of Math - you are comfortable working with numbers, reading complex charts, and ad hoc spreadsheet analysis.
- Fastidious – you're organized, care about the details, and seldom make mistakes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Smart Sheets
- Ownership - you have autonomy in our culture to take on and fix shortcomings and challenges.
