When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on advancing our clients’ environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives. We’re seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Traffic Engineer to lead and participate on projects to help support our clients to adapt and thrive in the face of current and future global sustainability challenges. You’ll apply your technical experience in traffic engineering and permitting to review project scope, create a delivery plan, and execute permitting strategies. Your leadership will be key to realizing safer infrastructure operations, healthier communities, and protection of our world’s natural resources.

Aligned to our Bellevue Washington office, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to and help manage projects related to linear infrastructure, renewables developments, transportation, and energy infrastructure focusing on environmental reviews, surveys, and permitting. Key Focus For Success In This Role: Project & Technical Management

  • Serve as an assistant project manager in the successful development and execution of utility, transportation, and energy infrastructure projects, including transmission & distribution and renewable energy developments.
  • Support staff in preparation of resources sections for environmental documents, evaluate potential environmental impacts and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide quality assurance reviews of technical documents.
  • Support or lead environmental compliance efforts.
  • Support multi-disciplinary teams to complete projects on time and on budget.

Strategy And Business Development:

  • Conduct business development activities through direct client contact.
  • Support proposal and cost development activities for traffic engineering and other technical tasks
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Planning/Engineering, or similar discipline.
  • 5-10 years of progressively responsible work history leading project management or planning tasks, ideally with prior consulting experience.
  • Experience supporting natural resource and impact evaluations.
  • Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations; knowledge of regulatory processes, and experience with CEQA permitting.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing traffic impacts studies.
  • Experience implementing end ensuring compliance with local, regional, and state transportation policies.
  • Demonstrated experience with professional technical writing, and agency permitting.
  • Experienced and comfortable with coordinating and managing teams of environmental professionals on a variety of projects at the same time.
  • Ability to charter and lead a project or task team with a focus on client service and internal delivery goals.
  • Strong follow-through skills, attention to detail and work quality.
  • Willingness to adhere to safe work practices by following all company safety rules and OSHA regulations.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A Master's or other advanced degree.
  • Experience with the environmental consulting industry with renewables, energy infrastructure, transportation, or other related project sectors.
