Your Role and Responsibilities
The capability is the next generation of distributed, highly parallelized, enterprise data virtualization capability so key to the industry’s future. You’ll work alongside local and global (in Asia, Europe and North America) multidisciplinary teams of Developers, Architects, Engineers and Analysts creating the future of Big Data in the context of AI.

What You’ll Do:
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver incremental value to our product in their area of expertise to deliver product on a regular cadence .Our product must be ship ready on our sprint boundaries, usually a two week cadence.
You will participate with senior leaders in architectural activities such as requirements gathering and solution definition to meet our customer’s needs.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experienced professionally or as Intern/Student (early career professional) in software development
- Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages Java / C / C++ / python/ Go Lang/.
- As a Backend developer you will be responsible for development/ maintenance/ support of the services you develop through the full systems development lifecycle.
- Participate in the design and implementation of sophisticated software systems
- You will work with the Product Architects, Product Managers to understand various priorities and work towards the execution.
- Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure a high level of software quality and to share knowledge with team members.
- Participate in, and adhere to, professional software engineering practices using such tools and methodologies as Agile Software Development, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and source code management.
- Ensure good code coverage. Support bug fixes during testing and deploy to target environments.
- Participate in the planning, creation and execution of automated test cases and load/performance testing. Create/maintain technical documentation.
- You will be providing vigilance and compliance to various software engineering, support and release processes e.g security, stack upgrades that are free of vulnerabilities etc.
- Good understanding of containerised technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift Container Platform, and/or Linux Operating Systems (such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP etc.
- Experience and working knowledge of version Control systems like Github and build tools like Maven/Gradle.
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
- Strong sense of ownership of deliverables.
- Well versed with agile, DevOps and continuous delivery
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Development, deployment experience on any Cloud environment (e.g AWS, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud etc.)
- Experience in SQL, C/C++, Go Lang, python development and various scripting languages.
- Expertise in Core Java, Java J2EE , MicroServices Architecture.
- Experience in federated data technologies like Gaian Db a distinct advantage.
- Experience in connectivity and ETL from multiple data sources desirable.
- Experience of distributed / HPC computing
- Experience of BigData & Hadoop software stack: HDFS, Hive, HBase, Ambari
- Experience developing compilers and / or RDBMs
- Experience in system & low level programming (TCP/IP, multi-threading, IPC) on the Linux platform
- Experience working in a globally distributed product based engineering team
- Hands on experience in handling and debugging customer issues, work with L2 support team.
