As a India Trade and Settlement Associate within the Custody Operations team, you will manage the Trade and Settlement team, ensuring seamless operations across various financial products. You will collaborate with in-country and regional partners to maintain high service quality standards and ensure compliance with local market standards. Your role is essential in driving operational efficiency, process automation, and client satisfaction. Job responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Trade and Settlement team
  • Ensure compliance with local market standards and firm-wide requirements
  • Collaborate with external partners, including regulators, to enhance client experience
  • Evaluate workflows and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Comply with audit and compliance regulations and manage client visits
  • Provide input, development and management of projects in the team on system enhancements, end to end process reviews
  • Ensure operational risks are identified and managed effectively, ensure systems and processes are in place to minimize and monitor and manage all aspects of operating risk and compliance in the Custody Operations functions
  • Develop succession planning for team members, build knowledge depth within team through cross training and coaching, and provide development opportunities for team members
  • Support the transition from legacy systems to new applications
  • Drive changes to the control and automation agendas

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 8 years of experience in a trade and/or settlement operations related role
  • In-depth understanding of Direct Custody Business with product knowledge on equity and government bonds
  • Sound knowledge of India Financial and Securities Market and its operating principals and rules
  • Needs to hold National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) Certification in Depository Operations or Risk Management
  • Strong people management skills in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong risk and control awareness with the ability to prioritize workloads
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Prior experience in a Depository and Custodian bank will be beneficial
  • Experience in managing complex operations in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiency
