The role reports into the Senior Communication Lead, APAC with a dotted line into the Director, Global Corporate & Policy Communications.
A typical day:
- Overseeing and leading trust & safety communications for the region. This includes leading on all proactive TnS initiatives and advising local teams on how to handle reactive issues, providing statements and media relations strategies
- Supports the country comms leads with reactive corporate comms issues, ensuring message discipline and escalating to HQ when appropriate
- Identifies media opportunities for global executives, ensuring the seamless execution of all exec comms briefs, strategies and materials working in tandem with the country comms leads
- Guides the development of proactive initiatives (reports, polling, surveys, white papers) that further our policy and corporate goals.
- Serves as a key resource and dot connector on global policy issues including tax, housing, overtourism, and geopolitical issues and ensures global narratives and corporate messaging is incorporated into local programs
- Assists with content and messaging development, linking to global frameworks and playbooks.
Your expertise:
- At least 10 years experience in Communications, ideally with a global tech, travel or lifestyle company
- A proven track record handling complex trust and safety issues and crises across multiple time zones with multiple stakeholders
- Meticulous attention to detail, with experience crafting materials including speeches, briefing documents and memos for senior executives
- Experience supporting public policy objectives - more specifically relating to travel & tourism, technology, or the sharing economy.
- Ability to think strategically and calmly in a crises, with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Exceptional communications skills and a genuine curiosity and interest in geopolitical affairs across the Asia Pacific
