Theworks closely with engineers to design and develop electrical circuits, cabling and test plans for machine control and power distribution. The individual knows commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures for electrical design and test work.


What you will be doing:

  • Develops wiring diagrams, cable assemblies, and electrical test plans for assigned projects, using CAD and other design tools.
  • Builds prototype circuit boards, cables, and test fixtures as needed in support of engineering development efforts.
  • Assists with the specification and setup of test procedures and fixtures for new components and assemblies to conduct functional, operation, and life tests for evaluating performance and reliability of prototype or production systems.
  • Assists with the writing and development of technical reports, charts, graphs, and schematics to describe electrical sub-system operating characteristics as necessary to support design development, marketing, operations, and service needs.
  • Develops and maintains a broad knowledge and understanding of the laboratory, shop, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and vendor functions and interface relationships between and among such functions.
  • Assists and provides technical support as directed by supervisor and/or engineers for manufacturing assembly line and other departments within the company where needed.
  • Trains and mentors other technicians on technical skills and processes.

Must have for this role:

  • Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent technical field
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Previous project work within a school environment or workplace
  • Experience with electrical motors, controls and power management
  • Experience with CAD or SolidWorks

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience using 3D printers
