As a Hardware Engineer II , you will be responsible for:

• Designing, creating and realizing next-generation servers and embedded hardware for Akamai's Connected Cloud platform
• Building, troubleshooting, and hands-on debug of prototype computers, motherboards, and embedded systems
• Collaborating with industry partners and internal teams to design performant, efficient, and reliable computing systems
• Implementing and validating embedded software and firmware functions for system bootstrapping
• Engaging with new computing and networking technology standards.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Be proficient in 2+ of the following: Python, C, Bash, Verilog, SQL, and comfort in a Linux environment
• Have hands-on experience with hardware lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
• Have experience in the design, development, and validation of manufactured electronic products
• An independent, solution-driven mindset, adaptable to a fast-changing environment.

This role will require your presence in our Cambridge office at least a 3 days a week. Applicants should be aware that this office attendance will be required.
