As part of the leadership team, you will work on developing the systems and strategies that will be used by Amazon worldwide and you will regularly interact with senior leadership. You will work with the business teams globally to define organizational roadmaps, drive execution of technology projects, drive operational excellence initiatives and manage technology operations. You will build, manage, and mentor a high-performing engineering team towards achieving a focused mission. You’ll work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and will lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains.A day in the life

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
