About the role:

In this exciting role, you will provide mechanical engineering expertise to support the development of complex medical device systems within the Interventional Cardiology Coronary Therapies team. Day-to-day work will include a variety of design-related activities including design analysis, characterizing product performance and driving key design changes; while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role will utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC’s mission.



Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own the design development of mechanical components in complex, cutting-edge medical device systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and develop test plans/methods to assess the reliability of mechanical designs.
  • Create CAD models and drawings of parts and assemblies using SolidWorks (or similar) tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to translate customer needs into product requirements and design specifications.
  • Write and execute protocols and reports for design verification.
  • Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
  • Clearly communicate with relevant parties to facilitate team decision making.
  • Work independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines.
  • Work cooperatively with Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing to commercialize product.
  • In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to all documented quality processes and procedures.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience
  • Hands-on experience using tools such as SolidWorks or similar software
  • Excellent MS Office suite skills
  • Design, analysis and testing of complex mechanical systems
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%

Preferred qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Experience with medical device or regulated industry design control process and documentation.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources
  • Experience with electro-mechanical, laser, and/or optical systems.

Maximum Salary: $ 156900

Compensation fornon-exempt (hourly), non-sales rolesmay also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
