This position will be responsible for the coordination of activities between the various departments in order to ensure the correct operation of all processes and equipment in the area assigned. You will have direct responsibility for all staff within your team, both on site and remote (including but not limited to) recruitment, training, development, performance management, disciplinary matters and absence management. The role also includes managing the department budget and reporting of KPIs.
The main function of this role is to manage all customer complaints or issues related to the quality of our products/services through close collaboration with Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs. In addition, you will provide input during product launches, process improvements, and other special projects as required.
You are expected to actively participate in meetings, expressing ideas and opinions clearly and logically to help drive the business forward. As well as having responsibility for people leadership and development, the role requires the ability to develop effective working relationships internally at all levels and externally with customers and suppliers.Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day operational support to assigned department(s).
• Responsible for department budget and key performance indicators (KPIs) reporting.
• Lead department continuous improvement efforts by identifying waste and inefficiencies, proposing solutions, and implementing changes.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Maintenance to resolve complex problems or issues.
• Manage employee relations including performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and addressing grievances.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and implement production schedules and workflows.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders to exchange information, discuss work progress, and solve problems.
• Supervise employees, providing guidance, feedback, and coaching to improve performance and achieve goals.
• Monitor key performance metrics and take appropriate action when necessary to address any deviations or issues.Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a manufacturing environment with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.
• Experience leading and developing teams, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
