Our GPS Technology Organization is a structure within the US GPS practice that implements and maintains a new operate and technology model designed specifically to support U.S. defense and Government engagements.
As a Desktop Engineer, you’ll be in a highly skilled role with the industry leading technical expertise to support one or more Product Managers. You’ll have develop end to end understanding of all technical aspects of the service and be the key integration point with other products/services. As the Desktop Engineer for GPS, you’ll be responsible to ensure we’re delivering a best-in-class desktop solution to this service line. You’ll need to ensure that the desktop solution for GPS meets the appropriate compliance levels required by the business using primarily MS solutions and services, with the support our compliance team.
Your key responsibilities
- Providing on call support for minor and major service outage resolutions
- Bridging service components on premise and cloud, and across vendors
- Understand the technical dependencies across the different products and services
- Actively maintaining technical skills and expertise while having an intimate understanding of vendor product roadmaps using NDAs etc
- Directing and owning technical resolution of overall vulnerabilities and risks for the products
- Travel to support change or planned project activities

- Good understanding of the financial aspects of the product(s)
- Willingness to learn and understand windows installation and configuration items
- Learn to manage the packaging template, example being PSADT template development.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow and incident, problem, and change management processes and procedures
- Knowledge of modern OS deployment methodologies (Modern Provisioning via DEM accounts and Autopilot)
- Troubleshooting skills covering (but not limited to): Windows 10, O365, Browsers (IE/Edge/Chrome), Bitlocker, Windows Hello for Business, Teams and OneDrive for Business and intermediate knowledge of their complementing infrastructures.
- Awareness of driver and firmware management techniques
- Generalized understanding of Azure AD, and MS cloud offerings
To qualify for the role you must have
- A certification, trade school degrees, or a solid work history and willingness to learn and adapt.
- Industry technical certification for the relevant product(s) are required
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $52,800 to $95,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $63,400 to $109,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
