The Lease Telecom Engineer will be able to effectively and efficiently drive the design of all aspects of the physical networking infrastructure and address any design-related issues that arise during construction for all Microsoft datacenters/co-location facilities. They will work with internal stakeholders on standards, Microsoft requirements, materials as specified; lead design workgroups and drive cross-functional meetings for multiple, concurrent projects. This individual will be tasked to manage issues, decisions and risks, drive initiatives to improve efficiency and quality to scale with the growth of Microsoft.

The successful candidate shall be responsible for all aspects of the telecom-related designs within a geographical region, be able to multitask and quickly react to challenges as a proactive, lessons learned solution creator. The Lease Telecom Engineer is required to manage our external Architect and Engineer’s (AE) design creation and quality, be able to independently create design deliverables as required, and quality checking peer workload as required.
Design and Design Oversight:
The successful candidate will oversee the design of physical networking infrastructure for Microsoft data centers and co-location facilities, as well as addressing any issues during construction. They will assess existing facilities to ensure compliance with Microsoft standards. The role involves collaborating with partners, leading design work groups, and conducting cross-functional meetings for multiple projects.
