In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of prototype builds, including materials planning and factory readiness. You will need to establish daily build schedules and distribution plans to support the overall project plan for builds globally. You will also partner closely with multiple teams across Apple to understand key design changes requiring validation to accurately integrate engineering validation needs into the system build matrix. You will drive development timelines for new boards and flexes, lead the internal review process and release to vendors, and be the primary point of contact for our contract manufacturers and worldwide team members by providing clear direction on requests to the factory. - Plan and execute prototype builds, direct factory operations and cross functional teams - Establish daily build schedule and distribution plans to support overall project plan for in-region and local builds - Primary point of contact for the program with our contract manufacturer and in region Apple partners, provide clear direction on requests to the factory - Identify, understand and highlight build schedule, budget and material risk and drive them to closure by bringing together key partners for decision making - Drive board and flex releases with System EE Engineering team and the vendors to meet ambitious schedules - Partner closely with cross-functional teams to understand key design changes requiring validation to accurately integrate engineering validation needs in to the system build matrix
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • A proven track record in hardware engineering or operations program management with experience in effectively handling factory builds and working with vendors
  • Ability to support international travel for factory builds, planning and execution of prototype builds, including materials planning and factory readiness
  • 5+ years of industry experience in hardware engineering program management
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to handle complex build matrices and micro schedules
  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles and constant change and remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty while fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities with the ability to drive the team forward
