Product Development Test Analyst
In this position...
Test Engineer (TE) is responsible for conducting transmission Design Verification and Development (DVP&R) testing to support the Ford vehicle validation requirements. The TE is responsible for programming and running the test in compliance with the written Corporate Engineering Test procedure (CETP) or written test procedure.
What you'll do...
Review submitted test requests to ensure the test can be completed as defined.
Work with Scheduling to identify facility capable test facility.
Initiate required fixture or instrumentation requests.
Responsible for setting up all required CAN communication to support hardware testing.
Responsible for writing all required test programs in compliance with the written procedure provided by the Requesting Engineer (RE).
Work with the RE to ensure the test program is running in compliance with the written test procedure and that all required data files are collected in the format required by the written test procedure.
Responsible for creating all test alarm limits needed to ensure proper test function.
Responsible for daily review of data to ensure valid test data is collected.
Transfer data to RE or network storage repository.
Responsible for working directly with Operations to answer any questions arising during test setup.
Work with the RE to help troubleshoot any functional issues with the test setup including, but not limited to, wiring, CAN communication, software and special instrumentation requirements.
Test SetupWork with the RE to setup vehicle calibration and strategy. The RE is responsible for providing all software and setting up the ATI screens required to run test.
Responsible for setting up all required CAN communication defined by test procedure.
Responsible for creating the Test Request (TR) booklet that includes:Identification of test piece (i.e. transmission serial number, part number, etc,)
Description of the test procedure including CEPT where applicable.
Identification of part numbers needed for test setup (half shafts, fixtures, flywheel, damper, coolant TOX number, oil TOX numbers for engines and transmissions)
List of any special alarm limits required for test piece.
Wiring diagrams to connect between cell automation and the test piece
You'll have….
Associate's degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience1+ years of test engineering experience1+ years of test programming in ADACS (Horiba) or Puma (AVL)
