People are Jacobs’ greatest asset, and we offer a competitive package to retain and attract the best talent. We also give back to our communities through our Collectively program which incorporates matched-funding, paid volunteering time and charitable donations.
Every day in the Geospatial team at Jacobs we use our technical expertise and agile thinking to answer client problems, but what makes us different from our competitors?
- We are a large team of over 100 Geospatial professionals working in offices across the UK, Ireland and Poland. We sit within the Technology Services operating unit, working alongside specialists in Survey and Reality Capture, Visual Media and Information Management, and collaborating with developers, data scientists and UI/UX designers. We work on projects ranging from flood management to nuclear decommissioning, from strategically important road planning to smart sensors in water networks. A world of opportunity awaits.
- We support flexible and agile careers. This doesn't just mean a mixture of working from home and in the office, but a more fundamental shift within Jacobs to encourage people to develop in technical roles, sales, project management, operational leadership, commercial and product growth to name just some of the options. If you are ambitious about career growth in the Geospatial industry, we have a lot to offer.
- We're looking outward. We've had great success supporting other teams within Jacobs to deliver to clients. We are now building on that success and are at the forefront of developing Geospatial products and services for clients as well as responding directly to Geospatial opportunities in the fastest growing markets.
- Passionate about and experienced in leading large-scale GIS project delivery, with good management skills in costing, resourcing and people leadership.
- Evidence of being an expert communicator who leads on engagement with external clients, internal clients, framework managers, and sales teams through a previous geospatial role.
- A high level of technical knowledge covering ESRI products (or other GIS software)
- An understanding of complementary solutions such as CAD software, FME, programming languages and other software development
- To be ready to bring new Geospatial ideas to Jacobs and to challenge the accepted
- A background in GIS for engineering, environmental or the utilities sectors is an advantage but not essential
- To have achieved chartership with the Royal Geographic Society CGeog(GIS) accreditation scheme or similar professional body, or be willing to actively work towards achieving chartership
