The role of Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE II) within the Network Design Planning & Engineering (NDPE) analytics team in GTS organization is responsible for building analytical solutions to propose designs that reduce cost to serve and improve customer speed. The BIE II focuses on both near term and long term 1P requirements that enable capacity growth, cost reduction, faster speed, better quality and greater sustainability in our transportation network.Key job responsibilities
The BIE II needs to continuously make business decisions on prioritization of features/dashboards while keeping the speed of business in mind. The BIE II refines requirements from business stakeholders and converts them into functional designs that solve problems. This position identifies trends, articulates insights and develops action plans leveraging data to improve Amazon’s transportation network. This role identifies new ways to implement solutions at scale and ensures that solutions are flexible enough to meet the changing business requirements.The BIE II develops and maintains sophisticated data models that recommend network design improvements in alignment with NDPE goals and objectives. The BIE II creates dynamic and interactive data visualizations to effectively convey complex information to stakeholders. This role constructs visual mapping options that effectively illustrate distribution patterns and core transportation metrics.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
