Regulatory Affairs Supervisor
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Regulatory Affairs Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Driving product stewardship and regulatory compliance for Consumer Business "Discovery Team" new product programs. Projects are targeted at new market spaces and leverage new technologies. Specific efforts may entail composition assessments, toxicology review, checks for Prop 65, California Cleaning Products Right to Know Act, Hardgoods Regulatory Assessment, consumer label language, and CDMS documentation.
- Serving as WERCS and Smarter Sorting Administrator for 3M. Supervising efforts to register new products as required by retailers. (Includes supervision of a contract worker.)
- Managing UL/CTL testing required by a major US retailer
- Interacting with trade groups and customers to advocate for 3M positions.
- Completing projects that strengthen 3M Consumer Product Stewardship team and drive compliance on emerging new regulations.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in technical field (completed and verified prior to start)
- Four (4) years of experience working a product stewardship or regulatory function in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master’s degree in chemistry or related technical field from an accredited institution
- One (1) year of experience supervising small team and/or doing a job that requires knowledge of regulatory requirements for consumer products. Experience interacting with customers beneficial.
- Skills include strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfort advocating for 3M externally
