What to Expect
As Associate Manager, Factory Experience, you will be playing a critical role in Workplace at Tesla’s Bay Area Manufacturing sites. You will manage all events, programs, tours, including internal facing and external facing initiatives by working with cross-functional stakeholders. This role will work cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders, interfacing with Manufacturing, Security, HR, and other organizations. You will be responsible for driving process improvements, program sustainability, event quality and overall operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills and strong discipline to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail and being self-motivated to drive change.
What You’ll Do
  • Standardization and Improvement of Programs: Enhance the consistency and quality of workplace events and initiatives, which eliminates subpar people programs across different production areas. In turn, leading to a more unified and satisfied workforce
  • Workplace Round Tables: Oversee the scheduling, executing and follow through of workplace round tables with EAs and Sr. shop leaders at both Fremont factory and 901 Page to ensure goals of workplace team are aligned with customer needs. In addition, conduct follow-up meetings with cross-functional Workplace teams as needed (ex: Culinary, transportation, janitorial, etc.)
  • Feedback Loop: Ensure that the Tesla’s Workplace people initiatives are always evolving and aligning with employee needs and expectations. Without someone specifically assigned to gathering and implementing feedback, there is a risk of repetitive mistakes and stagnant program quality. Be responsible of the creation of SOPs and a yearly events calendar that will streamline the event planning process. This makes it easier for leadership to anticipate and prepare for events, while also ensuring a smooth and organized approach to event execution
  • Financial Management: Forecast and manage spend on program and events, which mitigates the risk of overspending and misallocating resources in event planning. This ensures cost-effective planning that aligns with company financial goals
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing people programs team by providing professional guidance, fostering personal growth, and creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Ensure team members have the resources, training, and support needed to succeed in their roles
  • External Public Relations: Develop a robust touring program that can support both internal and external customers. Find methods to add value to the touring program and help Tesla gain positive PR – Sell merchandise, collect email for future sales promotion communication, receive and action feedback after each tour, etc.
What You’ll Bring

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives and engaging with executive assistants and senior shop leadership
  • Strong skills in collecting and applying employee feedback, creating SOPs, and implementing planning tools like event calendars
