What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
- Execute Tesla test procedures in the areas of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, Camera Optics and Camera Cleaning under the leadership of design engineers (Lens cleaning, Camera Assembly Vehicle Retrofits, for example)
- Prepare vehicles for testing, including instrumentation installation, part changes, and vehicle diagnostics
- Design and build new instrumentation or test equipment as needed
- Lead on & off-site test trips, including management and support of other technicians and operators in test vehicle setup and test execution
- Work with internal and external test labs and proving grounds to direct testing activities
- Mentor less-experienced technicians and operators to develop their skills and knowledge
- Document results of testing and communicate issues found to the lead engineer
- This is a safety measure position which is subject to drug testing requirements per Tesla policy and in accordance with applicable law
- 2-year automotive degree or equivalent technical credentials
- In-depth knowledge of modern vehicle systems and how they operate
- Some exposure to vehicle testing, specifically related to Sensors, Sensor Cleaning components, Camera Calibration or Autonomous Vehicles, is preferred
- Some fabrication skills preferred
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Must be comfortable driving prototype vehicles at (or over) their limit on closed courses
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
