What You’ll Do:

• Record daily cash receipts into royalty system to ensure that songwriters and composers are accurately compensated.
• Coordinate with royalty department to ensure proper identification and coding of cash receipts for loading and processing into the royalty system.
• Record month end accounting journal entries for cash receipts and revenue/expense items.
• Upload sales statements into master’s royalty system and reconcile them back to cash received.
• Assist with departmental overhead reporting and budget creation.
• Prepare reporting analysis for senior management on an as needed basis.
• Crosstrain to address departmental reporting as determined by business needs.
• Collaborate with other team members to address transitional projects and assess best practices.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience required.
• Must possess sound understanding of generally accepted accounting standards.
• Proficient in the use of MS Excel.
• 1 or more years of early-career accounting experience.
• Must be aligned with Sony’s Values and Purpose.
• You are a highly organized person that pays close attention to the details.
• You are thorough and thoughtful with your approach to problem-solving.
• You adapt quickly, easily reorganizing priorities to fit business needs, and perform with a high sense of urgency.
• A dedication to accuracy is key and necessary to ensure that all information is recorded correctly.
• Ability to work overtime when needed, typically, but not limited to the first working days of each month.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• 7.5-hour business workday but variations in work volume may require extended working hours for evening and late-night events.
