Job Function
SVE (System Validation & Emulation) team within Bangalore Design Center is responsible for validating hardware solutions and to integrate new hardware (IP cores and SoCs) to maximize software productivity and enable faster time to market. The validation organization is central to minimizing the number of chip turns in products, to the efficient transition of sound and reliable HW to SW organizations, and to the development of new validation methodologies.
Responsibilities
Execute the validation plan and methodology of Qualcomm ASICS (System-on-chips) on HW emulators and on Silicon
Understand the CPU architecture and writing and reviewing validation test plans
Development of directed, random, and pseudo-random diagnostics for validation in compliance with Silicon spec and use cases
Debug of diagnostics on various platforms using JTAG, Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes and similar equipment
Interaction with various engineering teams (like system, hardware design and design validation, software engineers, test engineering) in test-environment bring-up & development in order to meet team goals and resolve problems in a timely, effective and professional manner.
RMA debug, ATE vectors debug
Candidate should have 2-8 years of related experience in SoC Pre and post silicon validation.
ARM System-On-Chip Pre-Silicon emulation and Post-Silicon ASIC Validation experience related to board bring up and debug.
Familiarity with the following is a big Plus:
Test equipment like Logic analyzer, Oscilloscope and Protocol analyzers.
Embedded software development of low level hardware drivers in C language.
Working experience related to one or more of the following is required.
ARM Processors & Debug:
V7/V8/V9 architectures like ARM Cortex-M, ARM Cortex-A7, ARM Cortex A53/A57, Artemis
Debug experience based on ETM, ETB, STM, STB.
System level Performance & Power Optimization and measurements.
Education Requirements
Required:Bachelor's, Electronics/Computers Engineering
: 2 years to 8 years
Must have :
Expert level ARM v7 / v8 / v9 architecture knowledge. Expertise on ARM/Sub-system multi-core/cluster designs and hands-on experience of validation. CPU and System Low-power Low power architecture knowledge Embedded software development of low level hardware drivers in C language - C/C++ coding skillsPre/Post Silicon Validation experience Silicon Debug and bring-up experience Experience with driving and debugging complex issues Excellent oral and written communication skills
Additional skills [not mandatory, but a big plus]
ARM assembly knowledge Debug using Lauterbach T32 Scripting skills
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
