Microsoft Cloud Network Engineer

As a Cloud Network Engineer in Azure Networking, you will gain marketable experience in massive scale data center network architecture design, network infrastructure automatic management, software defined networking and high scalable/available/reliable distributed service design/implementation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
  • CCNP/CCIE/JNCI certification
Responsibilities
  • Develop a technical roadmap for major online/cloud services network infrastructure.
  • Create and propose technical solutions when faced with a new complex systems design or process issue, where little or no precedent exists.
  • Provide technical expertise to perform root cause analysis of service interrupting incidents; develop and implement strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Take responsibility for prioritizing critical, competing tasks that may lack clear end results.
  • Effectively apply influence strategies and negotiation skills to impact decisions and make trade-offs based on total cost of ownership (TCO) and risk.
  • Drive continuous improvements of the networking service, drive automation to manage the scale and continue to optimize the efforts through appropriate tooling and automation.
