About the role:

This role will lead the social media strategy and execution in the high-growth Interventional Oncology & Embolization Division of Boston Scientific. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care and excited to help the team drive growth and offer solutions to patients with the most challenging conditions, including liver, kidney, lung and other types of cancer. You’ll work in a fast-paced market, with frequent late-breaking clinical data releases and product launches, aligning stakeholders behind strategy, developing tactical plans and creating content for social channels in support of communications and marketing objectives.

Critical to this role is experience managing social media channels in a corporate environment (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.), including best practices for content development, the use of paid and organic social campaigns on various channels, measurement strategies (KPIs) and a firm grasp of how to manage social media in a regulated environment. The ideal candidate would be skilled at content development, possessing the poise required to coach senior executives utilizing social media channels, and experienced in the use of social media tools and vendors for management and social listening. This candidate may be asked to lead other digital and activation programs beyond social media, so a willingness to flex and take on more responsibility is a must.

Your Responsibilities will Include:

  • Initiate and build social media plans in partnership with divisional leadership, marketing activation and digital marketing
  • Research, write, and edit content, working with designers, subject matter experts and others to develop engaging content that grabs the attention of our target audiences
  • Learn and follow all regulatory, legal, clinical and compliance requirements related to promotional materials and social media, as outlined in applicable SOPs
  • Proactively conduct social listening on hot topics, providing detailed summaries to key stakeholders as needed
  • Partner with outside vendors, corporate social media and others to expand skills and advance capabilities
  • Monitor Boston Scientific community conversations and manage inappropriate or off-label references
  • Manage patient and health care provider comments on Boston Scientific channels and route complaints and requests through appropriate pathways as required by policy
  • Develop and communicate the BU social media vision and strategy to executive management and business stakeholders
  • Regularly evaluate and assess Boston Scientific key opinion leaders (KOLS) and competitors’ social media presence and provide recommendations to enhance the Boston Scientific social presence
  • Lead the development of paid social media content and campaigns to support key events and product launches
  • Develop KPIs and provide regular measurement on social media programs for the division
  • Act with a results-first mindset – be closely aligned with the business, act with a sense of urgency and drive measurable results in growing the IO business
  • Be flexible and always willing to take on more responsibility

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-7+ years of marketing/commercial experience including minimum 3+ years of experience in social channels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate brings significant experience in both traditional integrated marketing communications and digital marketing/social media
  • Possess a clear commercial mindset and an understanding of how to translate commercial objectives to breakthrough social campaigns
  • Good communicator with proven ability to drive change and influence organizations
  • Builds trust and can effectively collaborate across Product Marketing, Sales, IT, Corporate Communications, Legal, Regulatory and Finance
  • Fearlessly innovates - always looking to bring new ideas, drives innovation, encourages the team to learn fast and creates exceptional customer experiences
  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects, programs, people and drives clarity for the team on prioritization
  • Ability to engage and influence executive-level leadership
  • Prior experience in product marketing, marketing development or direct-to-patient communications a plus
