Responsibilities Include:

Leading the supplier engineer team in supporting externally manufactured finished device products and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Work with the procurement, planning, R&D, project managers, and supplier quality teams, to define team priorities and objectives – supplier performance, mitigating supply risks, generating and execution of Value Improvement Projects
  • Developing and monitoring the annual budget, adjust as appropriately
  • Defines the organizational structure of the Supplier Engineering team to align with the needs of the organization. Evaluates and assesses skill needs of staff on a continuous basis to ensure appropriate competencies as future workforce.
  • Interface effectively with internal key stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver technical strategies for key suppliers and materials.
  • Investigating and evaluating new and existing technologies to use in future products and improve the quality and reliability of current products.
  • Lead technical investigations of supplied material issues or supply constraints.
  • Cost reduction strategies development and execution through Value Improvement Projects with all Tiers of suppliers in the supply chain.
  • Collaborates with other BSC cross functional teams in identifying insourcing / outsourcing opportunities
  • Development of new or existing supply base, plus supplier integrations for M&A
  • Fostering a diverse work environment by recruiting, coaching, and developing talent
  • Manage and support the maintenance and improvement of Supplier Management Policies Procedures, systems and tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Science-based discipline required
  • 10+ years supplier engineering or medical device manufacturing related experience
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • 5+ years’ experience in people management with leadership skills
  • Ability to travel 20%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Understanding about medical device quality requirements, qualification, acceptance, inspection, and change control processes
  • Results-oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships
