The Program Manager must possess exceptional comfort with cross-functional collaboration and impeccable organization skills. This role requires onsite presence in the San Diego, CA, office (4 days/week), and only candidates with design and/or operational experience in the semiconductor or electronics industries will be considered.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate continuously with Program Management, Engineering Operations, and Finance to ensure opex is optimized at the program, BU, and company levels
Drive cross-functional teams to achieve opex optimization targets established by Finance leadership (up to the CFO); make recommendations to optimize opex, and drive teams towards development of risk mitigation plans
Coordinate with Program Managers and Engineering Operations to ensure forecasted and actual expenses are in-line with program and BU PoR
Drive Finance and Engineering towards allocation adjustments using data-driven analyses of forecasted and actual effort spent on programs
Chair recurring data-driven and actionable reviews with Program Managers timed with financial cycles of opex metrics that deviate from PoR and financial forecasts
Drive towards improvement of forecasting accuracy and opex tracking, including partnering with the Program Management Tools team to develop the requisite planning and tracking tools
Perform comprehensive evaluation of Program Management policies and procedures to inform NPI process improvements with emphasis on opex optimization
Take responsibility for driving improvements by aligning with Program Management team, publishing new procedures, and ensuring compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
15+ years of Program Management or related work experience that includes focus on financial metrics
10+ years of design and/or operational experience in the semiconductor or electronics industries
5+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization
3+ years of experience with program management tools such as dashboards, Gantt charts, etc.
3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above)
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
