Description
- In this highly visible role, you will manage design, fabricate & optimization of mechanical fixtures/tools for manufacturing processes for our legendary products. - Apply design experience and work multi-functionally with Product Design Engineering and process owners & equipment supplier to implement your design though qualification process- Work closely with Cupertino-based MDEs in the development of above listed functions.- Work with Global Supply Managers to develop new fixture from RFQ through factory implementation, and manufacture, as well as cost breakdown analysis.- Work with Supplier Quality Engineers to drive fixtures quality and meet all production requirements.- A heavy emphasis will be on working with suppliers to define and refine mechanical tooling and fixtures, and process capability and readiness. - You may audit supplier secondary processes as well as support product phase builds from prototype through ramp and mass production. - Drive fixture innovation and low cost design, qualification, decisions though data analysis. - Identify, research, develop, and qualify premier fixture manufacturers and suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Engineering degree (Mechanical) with relevant professional experience.
- 5+ years relevant working experience, esp. in 3C industry.
- Good written and oral communication skills, fluent in English.
- Experience in process developing with customized fixtures
Preferred Qualifications
- Rich working experience of 3D CAD modeling systems and workflow, UG NX preferred.
- Expert knowledge of drafting best practices and the application of GD&T principles.
- A thorough understanding of metal and plastic materials science, tribology and wear principles highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of FEA (stress analysis) highly desirable, ANSYS preferred.
- Hands-on experience and technical knowledge in fixture design in CNC and assemble process area.
- A great teammate who is self-motivated, results oriented and detailed oriented.
- Other process knowledge such as tool design, assy is preferred.
- On-site build support; must be willing to work from OEM factories.
- Ability and willingness to work independently and travel frequently (mainly in Asia).
- Familiar with data analysis software, JMP preferred.
