Assistant Manager Football Players and Scouting (Temporary 10 months)
- (scouting/professional)by detecting, identifying and sign the young upcoming talents, future icons of adidas in theAPLAN region (Latin American, American, Canadian, Asian and players from Oceania).
- Assist in making sure that all adidas football players have maximum brand association and exposure to the industry (thus generating maximum ROI), by using all internal and external instruments.
Signings:
- Support the Player Management team by signing the key players fitting the adidas brand strategy;
- Attend national and international Youth events and use them as a platform for scouting (Identify, contact, network and sign).
- Supportinnegotiations of players within the territory.
- To create a network in the world of football among Scouts, Coaches, Regional advisers, agents.
Service:
- Place forecast and orders at Athlete Service Platform;
- Liaise with Player Management and other internal colleagues to align footwear orders (Launch, Back to Club, National Team, major events) and to select off-pitch products and align orders
- Product seedings
- Credit card creation and loadings
- Manage storage and shipments
- Manage Store visits
- Produce Contract Approval Forms
- Invoice checking, send to Finance.
Special Projects :
- Player profile / asset plans;
- Quarterly Reports;
- Global Bonus Program reviews
- Scouting & Player team meetings: logistics + presentations;
- Maintenance of Football Calendar & updates;
- Bootcount reports (COPA AMERICA, WC, UCL, UEL);
- Prepare various reports / presentations (boot launch report, social media reports, etc)
- Track social media of players.
Key Relationships:
- Internal : brand marketing, BU, CTC, Athlete Service
- Football Sports Marketing teams Global & Local, adidas partners, Global Player Managers (to Local Player Managers), Global Scouting Managers
- External : players, agents, clubs, football industry network
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong football knowledge combined with a business mindset.
- Understanding of issues faced by players (financial, media, relocation, languages) and ability to help adidas develop support programs.
- Highly motivated, focused, and well-organized with a deep empathy for the sport.
- Excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and ideally Power BI.
- Commercial awareness and knowledge of the sporting goods business model.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all business matters.
- Driven to achieve goals and meet work expectations.
- Fluency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is preferred.
- Flexible schedule with substantial travel (15% to 20%) for meetings, club visits, and game attendance.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree, ideally with specific education in Sports Management.
- Professional experience in the sports or goods industry.
- Preferred background as a high-level football player and/or coach.
