Press and mould repair toolmaker Role & Responsibilities
As a toolmaking apprentice, you will be involved with:
- An opportunity to learn core machining skills under the watchful eye of your mentor.
- Carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance on press and mould tools.
- Providing engineering solutions when immediate spares aren't available (retrofitting, reverse engineering or modifying equipment).
- Working in line with site tooling techniques and best practices and at all times complying with Health and Safety regulations.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance and inspection logs.
- Assisting in procurement of purchased spares.
- You will attend a day release college course to bolster your practical skills as you develop them.
We are looking for a candidate with the following knowledge /qualifications:
- Strong maths and English.
- Comfortable with IT.
- A keen interest in hands on engineering in a fast-moving production environment.
- CAD experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
