As System Engineering Lead, you will drive the technical direction for our next-generation wired networking hardware. You will work with our Product team to align business requirements and industrial design with cost, manufacturability, and technical feasibility constraints.You'll collaborate with electrical engineers owning various hardware sub-systems and ensure their successful integration into the overall system. Working closely with mechanical engineers, you'll optimize component placement, thermal management, and reliability requirements.Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:- Define hardware system architecture and technical requirements for advanced multi-gigabit Ethernet switching and gateway products
- Drive hardware platform decisions, including selection of networking ASICs, PoE solutions, power architecture, and thermal management strategy
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for architecture and performance specifications across the wired networking product line
- Lead technical design reviews, participate in bring-up of new designs, and drive resolution of complex system-level issues
- Define design and test strategies to achieve system-level validation requirements, functional certifications (Ethernet, PoE, etc.) and regulatory compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple wired networking programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in system-level hardware design for wired networking devices
- 5+ years of experience leading technical teams
- Knowledge of best practices for PCB design with high-speed digital interfaces and PoE electronics
- Deep understanding of Ethernet protocols, networking architectures, and relevant industry standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Master's degree in relevant technical field
- Experience with multi-gig Ethernet switch ASIC bring-up and integration
- Knowledge of thermal management, EMI/EMC compliance, and power distribution systems
- Familiarity with test methodologies, equipment, and automation frameworks for wired networking device development
- Track record of delivering complex networking products from concept to production (at least one full product development cycle leading to a successful launch)
