Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead complex projects and problem resolution efforts related to risk management.
- Collaborate with teams to identify and analyze risks that may impact operations and assets.
- Develop and implement strategies for risk mitigation and compliance.
- Assess current business trends to inform risk management practices and improvements.
- Drive global process improvements through effective project management and stakeholder engagement.
Expected Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Act as the Hong Kong Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).
- Day-to-day management of the Hong Kong AML/CFT program, executing the program and implementing risk and compliance standards consistent with local, regional, and global AML/CFT policies.
- Daily interaction with key local, regional and global stakeholders including the Hong Kong Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and regional MLRO, reporting to them and appropriate senior management / leadership, the Hong Kong board of directors and designated committees as needed.
- Liaise with key regulatory bodies and officials as needed including the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) and the Joint Financial Intelligence Unit (JFIU).
- Onsite and remote support for internal audit and regulatory exams, as well as reviews of the AML/CFT program by external stakeholders.
- Collaboration with global and regional operational teams to ensure AML/CFT policy requirements are effectively adopted and executed.
- Provide AML/CFT subject matter expertise in the development and rollout of new products andcapabilities. ProvideAML/CFT thought leadership and solutions to key products and business initiatives.
- Ongoing assessment of AML/CFT regulatory changes to assist in shaping an evolving AML/CFT program, including partnering with global, regional, and local policy leaders to stay current on trends and typologies; developing a consistent feedback loop between the policy and investigative functions.
- Ensure local, regional and global AML/CFT policies are continually refreshed in response to evolving landscape and regulatory changes.
- Review AML/CFT related reporting metrics and regulatory disclosures to identify key trends and stay abreast of critical program metrics and insights.
- Participate in AML/CFT forums to share best practices, case studies and trends.
- Provide clear and succinct communication both verbally and in writing to all levels of management and staff. Drive a culture of risk and compliance across the business.
- Review and approve AML/CFT related documentation, including policy documentation, risk assessments, audit and exam responses etc.
- Proactively work with first line and third line of defense on key AML/CFT matters and issues pertaining to Hong Kong.
Requirements:
- 5 years of relevant experience in a senior position in AML/CFT compliance at a large, global financial institution.
- Prior experience in FinTech, payments processing or banking preferred.
- Proven ability to navigate a continuously changing regulatory ecosystem.
- Extensive technical knowledge of AML requirements in Hong Kong.
- Prior experience in preparing and delivering presentations to internal and external stakeholders / regulators.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Chinese language skills would be preferred.
- Interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively at multiple levels and across disciplines.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
