Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, data Services and Dense Wave-Division Multiplexing (DWDM).
Experience in network operations, systematic troubleshooting in IP and Optical environment.
Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment.
Experience in TCP/IP and network routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS) and infrastructure with optical network installation, maintenance, and operation.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Layer 1 optical transmissions systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.
Experience with optical network installation, maintenance and operations (NOC/TAC) for a large network service provider or large enterprise networks.
Understand, and navigate Element Management System (EMS) and Network Management System (NMS) systems to manage optical networks.
Understanding of Internet Service Provider (ISP) network operations or experience in enterprise/IT network infrastructure support.
Ability to troubleshoot methodology and use of creative problem-solving under pressure.
