Job Description

BACE Project Reliability/Systems Engineer.

The Reliability/System Engineer plays a key leadership role in designing, developing, and managing equipment reliability programs, that supports the key product franchises for the site.

This Engineer initiatives and drives the implementation of technicaldesignimprovements on assets, processes, and systems in line with the site asset & reliability management strategy.

This position will play a key role within the site engineering team ensuring Maintenance Systems are installed and managed to meet best practice and all compliance requirements.

This person will operate within a team based, continuous improvement environment within the Engineering COE (Centre of Excellence) and works closely with colleagues within the Maintenance, IPT (Integrated Production Team) & relevant departments and vendors as well as engaging with the company Corporate Asset Reliability Management CoE.

What you will do:

Bring energy, knowledge, innovation and leadership to carry out the following:

  • Design for new advanced Reliability during the Project phases of concept and design.
  • Work with large capital projects to co-ordinate the implementation of Maintenance Systems (equipment registrations, preventative maintenance routines, spares on the site CMMS & engineering handover documentation) for new facilities & installations at the Site.
  • Be involved in designing a facility that is driven by a suite of highly integrated, smart digital capabilities (Digital 100) using Condition-based maintenance, Dynamic maintenance scheduling, Utilities & energy analytics.
  • Ensuring we incorporate Predictive & Prescriptive Maintenance into BACE Project (the right maintenance at the right time).
  • Develop and update Site SOPs as required. Support GMP, Safety and Environmental internal and external audits as required.
  • Responsible for completing Reliability deliverables on schedule and budget with internal or contracted resources.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support throughout the project & after turnover to operations.
  • Develop and manage a reliability program for all critical assets in factory 03 and associated equipment.
  • Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include safety, capacity, quality, cost, and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Provide technical support to production, maintenance management and technicalpersonnel.
  • Lead technical Root Cause Analysis events, incident investigations related to manufacturing equipment/systems to prevent recurrence of asset or process failures.
  • Drive condition-basedmonitoring programs such as vibration, thermography, oil analysis and other new predictive analyses and interpretation of results.
  • Drive the site Mechanical Integrity Program as part of the Process Safety Managementsystem.
  • Lead RBAM (Risk Based Assessment Management) assessments and manage the site RBAM program. Carry out equipment criticality and spares assessments.
  • Remains abreast of and applies advancing maintenance technology as applicable. Engages with the company Corporate Asset Reliability Management CoE as site contact and implements corporate programs at site.
  • Develop multi-year Reliability roadmap and execution with closecollaboration/partnershipwith key cross-functional stakeholders.
  • SME for reliability and maintenance bestpractices.
  • Works with Maintenance & Project Engineering to ensure the reliability maintainability of new and modified installations.
  • Comply with the current manufacturing Quality and EHS Management System requirements, as relevant to the supporting operations.
  • Establish reliability metrics/KPI's to monitor equipment performance & improvement e.g. Downtime, PM/CM ratio, MTBF, MTTR, etc
  • Employ business analytics to assess performance and identify improvement opportunities for Equipment Reliability, Effective Maintenance Execution, Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance.

What skills you will need:

In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering or other technicaldiscipline
  • Lean Six Sigma qualification or experience of application of Lean principles is anadvantage.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in a comparablerole
  • Knowledge of GMP / EHS guidelines & Legislation, Plant Maintenance systems (egSAP).
  • Experience of manufacturing API Plant, Equipment andUtilities.
  • Good understanding of continuous improvement tools and reliability methodologies; RCA, FMECA, RBAM, 8-step problem solving etc.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic team player prepared to work in and embrace a team-based culture that relies on collaboration for effective decision-making.
  • Independent, self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task in project environments and skilled in communication and collaboration.
  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills with an ability to learnquickly.
  • Strong written & communicationskills.

  • Ability to influence the development of business area strategy andengineering/equipmentstrategy where appropriate.
