Job Description:

As a Staff Engineer, you’ll lead key initiatives, shape the company’s technical direction, and mentor teams by driving best practices. You’ll have the independence to make impactful decisions while being accountable for results.

In your day-to-day role you will

Mentor engineers through hands-on contributions and best practice advocacy.

Drive the scalability and reliability of Venmo’s cloud infrastructure with autonomy and accountability.

Develop automation tools, troubleshoot incidents, and enhance infrastructure quality, reliability, and stability.

Our Technical Stack:
AWS, EKS, Docker, GitHub Enterprise, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Datadog, Bash, Python, GoWhat do you need to bring:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years in software development.

5+ years operating distributed applications in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or SRE teams.

2+ years technical leadership experience.

Extensive hands-on experience with global-scale infrastructure (AWS preferred), IaaS/PaaS, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Proficient in Python, Java, Bash, or Go with strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
